Brunswick, GA -The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (Department) has announced that Georgia’s whelk trawl harvest season will open 6:30 am on Monday, February 7, 2011. The Department will continue its policy of requiring a permit for the harvest of whelks in state waters between February 7th and March 31st, the last day of the 2011 whelk season.
