The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is sponsoring a community trout stocking in Brookville on May 15 at 2 p.m. EDT.
The DNR will be trucking in 2,600 9-inch brown trout provided by the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery near Jamestown, Ky. Brookville Lake is eligible to receive federal fish because it is a federal flood control project.

Reports of dead and dying fish in the South Branch of the Potomac River are being investigated, according to state environmental and natural resources officials. The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection and the Division of Natural Resources have been concerned about fish health in the South Branch of the Potomac River watershed since a 2002 fish kill.

SALEM, Ore.— The commission today adopted regulations removing the seasonal lamprey bag limit at Willamette Falls and added an additional day to the weekly lamprey fishing schedule.
Pacific Lamprey were listed as a sensitive species in Oregon in 1993 and are an important traditional food source for many native Americans. Lamprey can only be harvested with a permit issued by the Commission and staff recommended elimination of the seasonal bag limit. The seasonal bag limit did not reduce lamprey harvest, but posed a hardship for many tribal members.

THE DALLES, Ore.—The Mid-Columbia Steelhead Sounding Board, will meet May 21 from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at The Dalles Screen Shop/Hood River Research building, 3561 Klindt Drive.
The agenda includes an update by Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife staff on the current progress of proposed management actions to recover the steelhead. Additionally, a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration representative will give a presentation on the threats criteria and a report on the cost analysis of the management actions. Opportunity for public comment will be provided at the end of the meeting.
