Comments Off on “Marathon Man” Not Only Beats, but Obliterates His Own Record

Frabill’s Jeff “Kolo” Kolodzinski sets the docks ablaze in a fury of fish…and establishes a new record
Jackson, Wis. – To say that the rules and regulations to qualify for a genuine Guinness World Record are extreme is an understatement of epic proportions. Just ask the Marathon Man himself, Frabill’s Jeff “Kolo” Kolodzinski. “Well let me see… We had to have two individual fish counters with unique tally sheets. Literally, a trained timekeeper had to be on hand. There needed to be two minutes of video evidence for each hour during the 24 hours. Sworn affidavits were required. We even brought in a witness from the Minnesota DNR to check my p’s and q’s.” Whew…

Comments Off on Bass Mortality At Small Tournaments A Concern for Anglers, Biologists

The dog days of August make fishing during the day miserable. After warming the air all summer, the late summer sun seems the hottest from now until the first weeks of September.
The heat forces bass tournaments into the dark hours at this time of year, but the stresses on the bass caught in those tournaments do not diminish just because its night time. Late summer into early fall presents considerable stresses to black bass just trying to survive.

Hot Water Forces Location Change For Idaho’s Take Me Fishing Trailer

Comments Off on Hot Water Forces Location Change For Idaho’s Take Me Fishing Trailer

REXBURG- The “Take Me Fishing Trailer” has been one of the Idaho Department of Fish & Game’s (IDFG) most successful new program innovations in recent years. The concept is that wherever one of the trailers show up, free fishing and fun ensue for this who stop by. Dates and locations for the trailers have been advertised statewide and tens of thousands of bookmark/calendars were given out to Idaho schoolchildren before they headed home for the summer. Unfortunately, warm weather conditions at the start of August drove up water temperatures at one eastern Idaho fishing hole, forcing IDFG to make a last minute schedule change. The fishing trailer will not be going to the Rexburg City Ponds on Saturday, August 21. Instead the trailer and helpers will be heading to the Trail Creek Kids Pond outside of Victor on that day.
