DECATUR, ALABAMA – Chris Payne of West Blocton, Alabama, relied on several different baits to amass the biggest bag of the day of 18 pounds, 8 ounces at the Bassmaster Southern Open presented by Oakley on Alabama’s Wheeler Lake. Payne established a sizable margin Thursday of more than 4 pounds over second-place competitor Jimmy Mason of Rogersville, Ala.
