Rockport, Maine — Fly Rod & Reel magazine has named Pantagonia founder, environmentalist, philantropist and fly-fisherman Yvon Chouinard, Angler of the Year. According to Fly Rod & Reel’s Joe Healy, Chouinard epitomizes the strong ethic embodied by many fly-fishermen. “Fly-fishers tend to be stewards of our national resources, and no one has proven this to be true better than Yvon Chouinard. His dedication to helping preserve the environment through his personal giving, and through that of Patagonia, is particularly commendable,” Healy said.
