In just a few days, the 35th annual Eastern Fishing & Outdoor Exposition will open its doors to anglers, hunters and outdoor enthusiasts searching for a break from winter and itching to get a preview of what spring will bring. Presented by KeepAmericaFishing™, the Expo is being held February 10-13, 2011, at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass. Expo exhibitors include guides, lodges and charter boat captains from all over the country and numerous retailers who will be stocked with gear and equipment of every kind. Many manufacturers will also be in attendance to showcase and demonstrate their product lines.

CLEWISTON, Florida – Walmart FLW Tour pro Chad Prough of Chipley, Florida, crossed the stage Thursday with a five-bass limit weighing 35 pounds, 3 ounces to lead day one of the Walmart FLW Tour presented by Evinrude on Lake Okeechobee. Prough now holds a 5-pound, 15-ounce lead over Duracell/Gillette pro Jacob Powroznik of Prince George, Va., who caught five bass weighing 29-4 in a tournament featuring 320 anglers from all across the country, Canada and Spain.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today announced a new state law that allows for the one-time transfer of lifetime hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses under certain circumstances. Previously, lifetime licenses could not be transferred to another individual, regardless of the situation.

Annapolis, MD – On February 7, the Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) confiscated more than 1,100 pounds of illegally caught striped bass. The discovery came within a week of pulling more than 10 tons of illegally caught striped bass from four illegally anchored gill nets near Bloody Point Light, south of Kent Island in the Chesapeake Bay.
