This past Friday and Saturday April 15th & 16th Crappie USA held a $10,000.00 Super Event at Columbus, Mississippi where anglers were able to fish Aberdeen, Columbus and Aliceville Lakes. Nearly 100 anglers from 11 different states were competing for not only a part of the $10,000.00 in cash and prizes, but a chance to advance to the prestigious Cabela’s Crappie USA Classic. This year’s classic will be held October 12-15, 2011 on the Kentucky/Barkley Lakes at Paris, Tennessee.

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department’s Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program has scheduled four outdoor workshops in 2011.
A mini-workshop will be held June 3-5 at Turtle River State Park, Arvilla. Course offerings include archery, birding, campfire cooking, global positioning system, mountain biking, orienteering, fly-fishing and general outdoor skills. Workshop fees of $135 cover instruction in all sessions, program materials, use of equipment, all meals and lodging.
