And the month of May might be the best time of the year to catch them.
Walleye spawn in May. During the spawn, walleye typically gather near tributaries (waters that flow into or out of a body of water) and in spawning areas within the main body of water itself. Gathering in these areas makes it easier for anglers to find them.

MINNEAPOLIS(April 28, 2011) – FLW Outdoors announced Thursday that the Walmart FLW Tour event on Table Rock Lake, originally slated for May 5-8, has been rescheduled to take place July 21-24 on Pickwick Lake in Florence, Alabama. The tournament will now wrap up the six-event Major season that determines the coveted Angler of the Year award.

Money will go to the Sportsmen’s Conservation Project’s efforts to protect backcountry fish and game habitat

STOCKTON, Calif. – National Guard FLW College Fishing is headed to the California Delta May 7 for the third of four stops in the Western Division. Forty college teams will be competing for a top award of $10,000 to be split between the school and bass fishing club; $7,500 for bass club and $2,500 for their school.

STOCKTON, Calif. – The EverStart Series is headed to the California Delta May 5-7 for the third of four stops in the Western Division. The tournament will feature as many as 300 pros and co-anglers competing for top awards up to $35,000 plus a Ranger boat with an Evinrude or Mercury outboard for the pro and a Ranger boat with an Evinrude or Mercury outboard plus $5,000 for the co-angler.
