Want To Freeze Some Fish?

Comments Off on Want To Freeze Some Fish?

I watched on my recent trip to Alaska as the guides fileted and vacuum packed halibut filets to freeze for us to take home. I thought that would be a great system to have at home but the big commercial vacuum machine would be expensive. But ZipVac makes a good system that you can use at home and is reasonably priced.

Shrimp Boat By-Catch Mean Fish

Comments Off on Shrimp Boat By-Catch Mean Fish

They are there almost every morning that I head offshore. They anchor up just after dawn and begin cleaning their decks and holds of by-catch and trash fish. “They” are the shrimp boats that spend the night dragging their nets for pink gold. By night they work the nets, and by day they rest and clean.
