NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Lamar University team of Matt Morrison of Silsbee, Texas, and Danny Iles of Hemphill, Texas, led all three days of competition at the National Guard FLW College Fishing Texas Division Regional Championship on Sam Rayburn Reservoir and weighed a day three six-bass catch weighing 12 pounds, 6 ounces for a three-day total of 51-4 to win a top prize of $50,000, which includes a Ranger boat and outboard wrapped in school colors for the winning club and $25,000 for the school they represent. The team also qualified for the National Championship.

PHOENIX — Arizona may have a new microscopic aquatic invader – largemouth bass virus, which can kill fish but is not harmful to people.
“There has been a preliminary detection of this fish virus at Saguaro Lake,” said Arizona Game and Fish Department Fisheries Chief Kirk Young.

OLYMPIA – Clam diggers have a green light to proceed with the season’s second razor-clam dig, starting at noon Friday, Nov. 5 on five ocean beaches.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) approved the dig after marine toxin tests confirmed the clams on those beaches are safe to eat.
