If you fish for flounder in Florida you can help a research project going on at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences. The Rosenstiel School is a part of the University of Miami and Kurt Gamperl, a research scientist from Memorial University of Newfoundland, needs live flounder to study. Please email me (saltfishing@about.com) and tell me if you are interested. He needs fifteen to twenty live summer flounder in the 2.5 pound range.
Inlets are filled with flounder right now, so catching them should be no problem. Finding someone to get their live catch to Kurt is the issue. If you think you might be able to help out, even with one or two fish, I will put Kurt in touch with you.
