It looks like the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is going to affect far more than just the local Louisiana area. Wind changes now have scientists predicting that this oil will reach the Atlantic via the Gulfstream around the tip of Florida and up the Eastern Seaboard. And it will do this in a matter of days.  If that is the case, not only could the entire west coast of Florida be affected, but the entire east coast of the United States. This could forever change the way we fish – if we have any fish left at all!
Of course, all of this is based on the lack of cleanup efforts. If they should be able to contain and eliminate the bulk of the oil – a highly unlikely scenario at the present – we may not see Florida affected.
