I did manage to get offshore, but the water temperature is still a bit chilly for dolphin. I did not find any at all.
I came back in to the beach and ran the beach for a couple of hours looking for manta rays and cobia. Once again – no luck. The rays that were there last week have gone – at least for today.
But on the way back into the St Augustine Inlet, I came upon this group of manatee (sea cows) floating around right in the middle of the channel. There were seven smaller ones all grabbing and riding one very large one. It’s hard to tell from the picture how many there are. 2010 Bass Cat Owners Invitational on Lake Norfork in Mt. Home Arkansas was a sight to see. Arkansas Tournament Fishing “ATF” (Pro Staff) Chad Lamberth and Calvin Ralls where on the scene and on the water as hundreds of Bass Cats took off on day one at the Invitational.

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana departments of Health and Hospitals (DHH), and Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced today the closure of recreational and commercial fishing activities, and oyster harvesting near Marsh Island and in harvesting bed Area 28 due to confirmed reports of oil associated with the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
