The 2010 early migratory bird season dates have been submitted to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service by the Indiana DNR as listed below.
As in other years, these dates are not final until the USFWS approves them, which typically happens by the end of August. The season dates fall within the framework provided by USFWS, so no changes are anticipated. A later Wild Bulletin will notify you of approval or change.

The Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve is putting out the call for volunteers to assist in an intensive six-week period of field work set to begin September 4, 2010.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. – The Colorado Division of Wildlife Hunter Outreach Program and the Division of Wildlife Glenwood Springs area office are offering 25 youth hunters between the ages of 11 and 15 the opportunity to participate in a FREE upland bird hunt at Basalt State Wildlife Area. PHOENIX – The Arizona Game and Fish Commission finalized the purchase of the 160-acre Foster Ranch property in Coconino County for the future site of the Northern Arizona Shooting Range.
“This is a historic moment for a project that has spanned nearly 15 years,” said Game and Fish Commission Chair Jennifer Martin. “After evaluating nearly 50 properties, Foster Ranch was the best choice that meets our objectives for a public shooting range in the Flagstaff area.”

WHAT: Scott Bateman of Washington, Indiana, caught a 5-bass limit weighing 14 pounds, 15 ounces Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 to win $2,985 in the FLW BFL Hoosier Division tournament on Lake Monroe. Under cloudy skies he was fishing wooded areas on the main lake with a 10″ worm in 2-4 feet of water to sack his limit.
