The current bag limit in Florida for redfish – red drum, channel bass – is one fish between 18 and 27 inches long.  The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission is currently considering increasing that limit in the northeast part of the state.  Hearings are taking place around the state and a decision is expected by sometime in February of 2011.  It appears that the length and bag limits currently in place have worked to increase the population to a point that more fish can be harvested!
