With all the fishing closures and the ongoing blog discussions, I thought I would relate a true story that happened to me.  I was headed out before daybreak and ran into an amazing situation.  It seems that a gill net had been run parallel to and adjacent to the jetties that run for a mile into the Atlantic at the mouth of the St Johns River in Florida.  I know it was a gill net, because it got entangled with a few of the sharp rocks and was torn in several places, leaving remnants on the rocks.  To my amazement the net boat was still in the area, pulling the remaining net, full of fish… Read more…
