Illini West entered day two of the 2010 IHSA Bass Fishing State Finals in sixth place, but the Chargers hauled in five fish for a total of 16 pounds, 3 ounces on day two, catapulting the squad to the state championship. Illini West bagged the five-fish boat maximum on both days of the competition en route to becoming the state’s second state champion, as the anglers’ day-one total of 14 pounds, 2 ounces gave them a winning two-day total of 30 pounds, 5 ounces.
