Opening day of the lowland lakes season has come and gone, but there are still plenty of trout – not to mention shrimp, halibut and spring chinook salmon – to be caught in the weeks ahead.
Cold, rainy weather may have kept some anglers off the water during the first day of the trout opener, but that just leaves more fish available to catch, said Jim Uehara, inland fish manager for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW).
