This is the third time in five years the MWC has held a tournament in this area. The change affects the season in the Upper Salmon River from the city of Salmon upstream to the mouth of the Pahsimeroi River, and it allows anglers to keep Chinook salmon less than 24 inches total length.

The grant recipients will provide the equivalent in local match for a total of $1,270,464 that will be invested in projects that will improve public access and protect and restore natural areas in the Lake Michigan watershed.

In mid-June, two northern pike were netted at Loon Lake and a white bass was captured in Big Lake during fish surveys conducted by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
