You can also plan your 2010 summer getaway with Indiana State Parks and Reservoirs. All-terrain vehicle (ATV) operators who are not Minnesota residents must possess a trail pass when driving on state or grant-in-aid trails beginning Jan. 1, when a new state law takes effect. The trail pass does not need to be displayed on the machine, but must be available for inspection when requested by an officer. The pass is required whether the machine is registered in Minnesota or another state.

Minnesota’s state forest nurseries have more than 25 species of evergreens, deciduous trees and shrubs available for purchase. Seedlings are sold in orders of 500 or more, although purchases may be broken down into increments of 100 of a species. Prices for 500 seedlings run from $90 to $470.

Anglers kept off North Dakota lakes last winter because of record snowfall are finding access to frozen waters much easier so far this year.
Robert Timian, enforcement chief for the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, said many anglers are taking advantage of this year’s improved travel conditions. “There already has been a flurry of ice fishing activity, especially in the eastern half of the state,†Timian said. “With that said, anglers need to be reminded that unoccupied fish houses left on the ice must be identified.â€
