CHEYENNE – The Wyoming Department of Health and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department are advising state residents to be mindful about mercury levels in fish they eat. In addition to some saltwater fish, the agencies are advising caution when consuming certain fish from Big Horn, Seminoe and Pathfinder reservoirs.

In response to a recent state Supreme Court ruling, Pennsylvania Game Commission Executive Director Carl G. Roe today directed staff to begin developing regulations to allow the incidental taking of wild boars during certain hunting seasons. The draft regulations are expected to be ready for the Board of Game Commissioners to consider as part of its Jan. 29 meeting agenda.

CONCORD, N.H. – Ronald Allen, age 43, of Salem, N.H., was injured in a snowmobile accident at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2008, while riding on the Corridor 104 snowmobile trail in Bethlehem. Allen missed a turn in the trail and struck a tree; the crash ejected him from the snow machine. Bethlehem Fire and Rescue personnel transported Allen, who appeared to have suffered severe trauma, by ambulance to the Littleton Regional Hospital.

Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) biologists recently completed an aerial waterfowl count in southeast and east-central Colorado.
“We hope waterfowl hunters benefit from the monthly tabulations,” said Dan Prenzlow, Southeast Region Manager for the DOW. “We plan to count birds once a month from now thru March when the waterfowl hunting seasons wrap up.”
