Montana’s spring black bear hunting season begins April 15. A ll spring black bear hunters must purchase their licenses on or before April 14. Licenses purchased after April 14 can only be used for the fall black bear season. Black bear hunters are limited to only one black bear license a year.

Imagine how quickly contributions to help nongame species could grow if more Montanans participated.

Just a reminder that the 2008 trout season will open at 8 a.m. March 29 in waters located in Adams, Berks, Bucks, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Franklin, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, Perry, Philadelphia, Schuylkill and York counties. The regular trout season starts at 8 a.m. on April 12 in the rest of the state. (Read more)

A big wind on the front made for a big bite in Pine Island Sound! I did make it out on Friday. What a day! A big front was scheduled to come through during the night on Friday. As Friday dawned, the forecast was for south winds 15 to 20 with gusts as high as 30! I figured we could handle 15 to 20, and fully expected a good bite on the south wind. (Read more)
