The popular IGFA Family Fishing Clinic at the IGFA International Fishing Hall of Fame in Dania Beach, Fla., returns on Saturday, April 19, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. IGFA staff members will be available for the free event to provide instruction on casting, knot tying, regulations, angling techniques and conservation practices.

Landowner/sportsman relations were recently strengthened by volunteer efforts on a ranch along Rosebud Creek in southeastern Montana. Sportsman from Colstrip, Ashland, Forsyth and Miles City gave a day of work on the McRae’s Rocker Six Ranch on Saturday, April 5, 2008.

Winds from the SW and fish bite was on wind turned to the NE and the fish got lockjaw. Even with changing conditions we still caught over 50 Trout throwing DOA Shrimp. (Read more)

Closures implemented by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) remain in place until May 16 for all wildlife-related recreational uses, except fishing, on public lands in the Gunnison Basin below 9,500 feet. Until the DOW ends its big-game feeding program, the closure to all human activity on public lands is being enforced by the Bureau of Land Management. These closure orders were put in place by the agencies in mid-January to protect deer, pronghorn and elk affected by severe winter conditions.
