Ice fishing is becoming increasingly difficult with the warmer weather. Anglers should use caution if attempting to access ice, as shorelines are likely to be dangerous.
South Fork Snake River: Flows are starting to pick up to meet irrigation demand but the nymph and streamer fishing is still good. The best fishing can likely be found on the upper river from the dam down to Palisades Creek where rainbows are sitting on reds. Flows are expected to increase dramatically after Memorial Day so this might be the time to hit the South Fork.

“It’s too hot!”
“It doesn’t look cool.”
“I know how to swim.”
“Nothing is going to happen to me. “
Hoosiers can come up with every excuse to not wear a life jacket. But the truth is, it is imperative that you wear a life jacket at all times while you are on the water. So, the DNR is partnering with the National Safe Boating Council and the United States Coast Guard to encourage you to WEAR IT INDIANA!!
You will hear public service announcements on tv and radio encouraging you to use your life jacket while boating or recreating near the water this summer. Indiana Conservation Officers will also carry the message statewide to boaters as they launch and recover their watercraft at selected ramps during high boating weekends.
