OLYMPIA – The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife’s (WDFW) annual youth-only hunting season is set for Sept. 20-21.
Hunters under 16 years of age have a jump on both waterfowl and upland game birds with the special statewide two-day season, said Mick Cope, WDFW upland game manager.

The Big Wood River opened for salvage Friday, September 12, from below Magic Dam to the Richfield Canal Diversion.
The Magic Valley regional office of the Idaho Department of Fish and Game has extended the salvage order already in place on the Richfield Canal and the Big Wood River.

The Montana Supreme Court has unanimously denied the appeal of an Ethridge man convicted of poaching.
Lin Torgerson, who was convicted July 2006 by a Toole County district court jury for possession of an unlawfully killed whitetail deer and unlawful possession of golden eagle parts, had asked the state supreme court to overturn his misdemeanor convictions.
