Missoula, Montana ‘ Noted author and educator Jon Young will keynote Outdoor Writers Association of America’s conference June 21-24, 2008, in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Young knows not only how to listen to nature, but how to teach many of nature’s unique languages. Young first began his outdoor career as a student of famous tracker Tom Brown Jr., and after college founded the Wilderness Awareness School. He created programs geared toward both youths and adults, and is the author of several books and audio series. Two of his most popular classes, “Interpreting Bird Language” and “Animal Tracking,” highlight this year’s conference theme, ‘Listening to Nature.’
