Norm Dicks (D-WA), approved the Interior Environmental Appropriations bill yesterday afternoon with significant proposed increases for fish and wildlife conservation, including $85 million for the State Wildlife Grants Program, $42.6 million for the North American Wetlands Conservation Act and $5.2 million for the National Fish Habitat Action Plan.

CONCORD, N.H. – New Hampshire anglers can now access more than 250 depth maps of the state’s lakes and ponds on the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department website. That’s almost 100 additional maps added just this year. Developed from N.H. Department of Environmental Services lake survey data, the depth maps, also known as “bathymetry” maps, cover a large portion of the state’s waterbodies and can be an important tool for both expert and rookie anglers.

Fire destroyed one of four brooder houses used in pheasant propagation at the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Loyalsock Game Farm near Montoursville, Lycoming County, yesterday afternoon. One employee was slightly injured when he attempted to use a fire extinguisher from the burning building to combat the fire.
