RAWLINS – John Occhipinti got himself on the list of state record fish, nine days later helped get himself off it and has issued a standing vow to reclaim the record.
The Cheyenne angler broke the tiger trout record May 21 at High Savery Reservoir and on May 30 guided his good friend Charles Lammey of Colorado Springs to an even bigger fish. With confidence, Occhipinti says there are more chapters to this record tiger trout saga.

ROCK SPRINGS—It’s not often that you run into people actively seeking out midget-faded rattlesnakes, unless of course you run into Molly Brockman and Karee Blewett.
Brockman and Blewett are Herpetologist Technicians with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department studying reptiles living near Flaming Gorge Reservoir. The study is part of an intense effort by the Department to learn more about species of special concern identified through the Comprehensive Wildlife Conservation Strategy (CWCS) program.

Pennsylvania Game Commission employees’ efforts to save a young bald eagle have paid off, as the eaglet has spread its wings and flown from its adopted nest in Berks County.
“The story began this spring, when a strong windstorm damaged an eagle’s nest along Lancaster County’s Conestoga River,” said Doug Killough, Game Commission Southeast Region director. “Half the nest blew away, and the three eaglets that were in it eventually fell to the ground.

Minnesota Department of Natural Resources conservation officers have been involved in emergency operations at the scene of the Interstate 35-W bridge collapse in Minneapolis. Conservation officers responded immediately Wednesday evening following the collapse. At least three DNR watercraft were used in search, rescue and recovery efforts throughout the evening. On Thursday, 14 conservation officers worked alongside other law enforcement and rescue personnel in search, recovery, and security capacities. The conservation officers brought six watercraft, including jet-boats and air-boats, for use in the debris-laden Mississippi River.
