Clear Creek Reservoir near Granite is closed to fishing while maintenance work is done on the dam. Water levels were drawn down slowly over the last few weeks. Low water levels will be maintained until repairs are completed by the Pueblo Board of Water Works, which owns storage rights in the reservoir.

WMU 4B SELLS OUT OF ANTLERLESS DEER LICENSES
Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) 4B has exhausted its entire allocation of 23,000 antlerless deer licenses as of today, announced Pennsylvania Game Commission Executive Director Carl G. Roe. WMU 4B covers portions of Cumberland, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Mifflin, Perry and Snyder counties.

The Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) is interested in hearing from the public about management of two important elk herds in northwest Colorado. Public input is critical in helping revise these management plans, called Data Analysis Unit or DAU plans. DAU plans establish population objectives and set goals for male-female ratios within populations.

2007-08 WATERFOWL SEASONS AND BAG LIMITS SELECTED The Pennsylvania Game Commission has made its selections for the 2007-08 waterfowl hunting seasons and bag limits and will forward those selections to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service next week, according to Carl G. Roe, agency executive director. Annual waterfowl seasons are selected by states from a framework established by the USFWS. Game Commission selections were made after reviewing last year’s season results, waterfowl survey data, and input gathered from waterfowl hunters and the public. Final approval from the USFWS is expected by late September.

New White River boat launching ramp

The new Burnett Public Access Site on the West Fork of the White River is open. The site built by the DNR Division of Fish and Wildlife includes a no-fee boat launch ramp, parking lot and an ADA-accessible loading platform.
